So, what exactly is enrichment, and why is it so important?
Enrichment is a series of activities to stimulate your dog’s mind, body, and senses.
It’s much more than just fun and games- it’s about engaging their natural instincts, encouraging problem-solving, and helping prevent boredom. Whether it’s through interactive toys, scent work, puzzle games, or social interactions, enrichment provides a meaningful outlet for your dog’s energy and curiosity. Enrichment is about meeting a dogs' five pillars of happiness.
The 5 Pillars of Enrichment
Remember these pillars like they’re the five fingers of your dog-walking hand. Everything we do in enrichment falls under one (or more) of these categories.
1. Physical Enrichment : Activities that get the dogs moving. Think of games like fetch, agility courses, or a good ol’ tug of war.
2. Intellectual Enrichment : Engaging their doggy brains! Puzzle feeders, scent work, hide-and-seek, or anything that gets them thinking.
3. Social Enrichment : Dogs are social creatures, so this involves controlled group play or safe social interactions with other dogs and 1-1 time with the canine handlers.
4. Sensory Enrichment : Activating their senses—particularly their most important one, the nose! Think of scent
games, different textures underfoot, or even playing with different sounds.
5. Environmental Enrichment : Changing up their space! New toys, obstacles, or even shifing things around keeps things fresh and exciting

Without mental stimulation, even the most active dogs can become bored, anxious, or develop undesirable behaviors like excessive barking or chewing. Enrichment activities help to balance your dog’s physical and mental needs, leaving them happier, more relaxed, and ready for a good nap by the time they come home.

What will a day in this new daycare look like?
The overall hours of operation for our daycare service will remain unchanged. What will change is the daily timeline of daycare to ensure we add more structured events at specific times throughout the day. By adding a more structured daily schedule, we will add more predictability to a dog’s routine which should add more calmness to their day.
Our new structure will run more like a child daycare facility and include activities and events to enhance a dog’s appearance, behavior, training, and mental activity. Each daycare day will include the following activities:
· Group training session
· (1) 1-1 training session
· Group activity (weather permitting)
· Brushing (5 minutes)
· 1 nose-to-tail examinations
· Controlled play time
· Wind down (mid day nap/lunch time with calming sounds)
What add-on activities will you offer?
We offer a wide variety of activities and enrichment styles. We will offer 1 on 1 ctivities, paired buddy activities, and daycare group activities. Our digital display board at the front desk will show you the activities available for purchase.

Please keep in mind, we have very limited spots each day for certain enrichment activities. For example, we can only support 1 solo hike per day so availability will be very limited. Please schedule early to ensure your pup gets what they need!
Grooming Update
We are excited to announce that as of 3/25/2024, our search for a pet stylist has ended! We are now able to schedule full haircuts and all bath services with immediate availability! Call, text, or schedule your next appointment directly through the pet parent portal!
